Croatia's former president calls for abandoning cold war logic

MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Croatia's former president Stjepan Mesic called upon politicians to abandon the cold war logic as he spoke at a high-level plenary session of the Minsk Dialogue Forum in the Belarusian capital on 8 October, BelTA has learned.

Stjepan Mesic is convinced that politicians need to brace up and leave the cold war logic behind to “understand that the time for competing and proving which system is better and what world system should be has already passed.”

“We must not only realize but also accept that every nation has the right to determine its future, including the system it wishes to live in,” he added.

The Croatia former president expressed confidence that “the future is in a multipolar world of equal states.” “The key to world development is not in somebody's domination over somebody else. It is in the implementation of common goals,” Stjepan Mesic said.
