MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – The CIS observation mission continues its work at the presidential election in Moldova, BelTA learned from the CIS mission.
Head of the mission, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Viktor Guminsky met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Moldova Dorin Cimil in Chisinau.
Viktor Guminsky thanked the CEC chairman for the invitation to observe the election and expressed confidence in the success of the election campaign. He also focused on the goals and objectives of the mission, its composition, and long-term observation aspects.
Dorin Cimil updated Viktor Guminsky on the activities of the Central Election Commission and subordinate election bodies in the preparation for the election. The CEC chairman focused on the measures taken in the country to ensure compliance with epidemiological requirements on the voting day.
The parties confirmed their interest in further constructive cooperation.
The presidential election in Moldova is scheduled for 1 November.
