MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The autumn session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly (CIS IPA) will be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on 27-28 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council.
Heads and members of parliamentary delegations of the CIS IPA countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, scientists and experts will take part in the events offline.
On 27 October, meetings will be held by permanent commissions on culture, information, tourism and sports, agrarian policy, natural resources and environment, political matters and international cooperation.
On the same day, young parliamentarians from the CIS member states will gather for a meeting of the CIS Youth Interparliamentary Assembly. The governing body of the assembly - the CIS IPA Council will also hold a meeting. The heads of the parliamentary delegations will discuss cooperation, review the results of the events held in 2022, and hear out information on monitoring election campaigns in the CIS.
The 54th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will be held on 28 October. The parliamentarians are to consider a large number of model laws on elections. A number of other bills will also be submitted to parliamentarians. Some of the bills might be later incorporated into national legislations.
In the run-up to the main events of the session, on 25 October, a meeting of the Expert Council on Communications of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will be held.
