MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Pakistan should develop bilateral cooperation more quickly, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said during a meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova in Minsk on 20 August, BelTA has learned.
"We are happy to be in Belarus. This is our first visit to the country. Once again, we thank you for the invitation. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This is quite a short period within the life of a country. The world is developing at a fast pace, and I believe we should also move faster," Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said. “As Belarus is under sanctions, our visit shows the desire of the Pakistan Parliament to maintain an independent policy.”
