Book about Belarus independence presented in Vienna

MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – A presentation of the English-language book Belarus: Independence As a National Idea took place in the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna on 30 March, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The event was organized upon the initiative of the Embassy of Belarus in Austria by the Austrian-Belarusian Society, the Austrian institute of Comparative Social Studies Eurasian Barometer, the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe, and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

Short speeches were made by head of the analytical center EcooM Sergei Musiyenko and Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs and National Security Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Professor Igor Marzalyuk as well as the Austrian co-author of the book, President of the World Values Survey Association, Institute for Comparative Social Studies Eurasian Barometer, Professor Christian Haerpfer.

The event met a strong interest on the part of representatives of political and social circles, the expert community, Austrian mass media, and the diplomatic corps accredited in Vienna.
