Belarusian PM urges nations to unite against West's influence

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) -  The West uses the same playbook in different countries and we must join efforts to counteract its influence, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with President of the National Assembly of Venezuela Jorge Rodriguez in Caracas on 16 July, BelTA has learned.

"The collective West is not particularly creative and inventive. It recycles the same playbook, which is a good thing for Belarus, Venezuela and others that have chosen sovereignty. Step one is to create a puppet group of people  abroad and call them the true parliament of the country. Then, using tools of so-called soft power, they impose values alien to our countries. Next step is to create and fund, under the guise of charitable organizations, organizations that carry out subversive activities within society. Other instruments in the playbook is to pull a plug on national industry and national technological competencies. I think you have experienced it," Roman Golovchenko said.
Every country comes up with its own protection measures, including at the legislative level. "Therefore, it is very important to share best practices, cases of how certain legislative acts and initiatives help block this destructive influence. I will be happy to convey to the Belarusian Parliament the words of your readiness to sign an agreement and to start practical work within the framework of friendship groups created in both parliaments, in order to discuss these very important issues substantively," the prime minister said.
The Belarusian prime minister will head to Cuba and Nicaragua after an official visit to Venezuela. The task of the government delegation is to promote cooperation with the geographically distant countries.
