MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – An official visit of the Belarusian parliament delegation led by Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova to the People’s Republic of China has ended, BelTA has learned.

The itinerary of the visit was extensive and tightly packed. Meetings were held with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhao Leji, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng, President of the All-China Women’s Federation Shen Yiqin. The first session of the high-level committee for cooperation between the legislative bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China took place.

Apart from that, Belarusian parliamentarians visited social infrastructure facilities in Beijing. The Belarusian delegation went to a museum dedicated to the history of China’s Communist Party in Beijing on 30 May. The museum was opened in 2021 in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China. About 5,000 people visit the museum every day.

The museum’s exposition features over 2,500 pictures and over 3,500 exhibits. Those include historical documents, weapon specimens, photos, and many other things. Original manuscripts by Karl Marx are on display. A number of important historical events have been recreated. The modern part of the exposition is interactive. Visitors can fly over key cities and provinces of China over the course of several minutes. The exposition also offers a video chronicle of several foreign visits of China President Xi Jinping, including footage from 2015 when he visited the Republic of Belarus.

Natalya Kochanova thanked Chinese colleagues for the organization of the visit and remarked that the parliamentarians would start working to fulfill the bilateral arrangements upon return to Minsk.
