MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian parliament delegation led by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko will take part in the international forum of the Union State of Belarus and Russia “Great heritage - common future”, which will take place in Volgograd, Russia on 28-29 April, the press service of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament told BelTA.
The main purpose of the forum is to preserve and defend the historic memory about events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
A plenary session and two panel sessions are supposed to take place during the forum. The latter will focus on “Preserving and protecting the common historical memory” and on “The patriotic upbringing on the basis of historical knowledge”. A session of the Youth Chamber under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will also take place in addition to a number of historical and patriotic events timed to a memorable date connected with the Mamayev Kurgan.
