Belarusian MP: The West targets Central Asia countries

MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) – Central Asia countries represent a target for the West, BelTA learned from Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh.

Andrei Savinykh said: “Events in Uzbekistan are links of one chain. In essence if the Russian Federation was provoked into carrying out a military operation in Ukraine, then Uzbekistan and other Central Asia countries may become the next target. Western countries are trying to destabilize the situation in these countries, blow up peace, and sow chaos via various non-governmental organizations and intelligence services of their own countries. It is easier to manage geopolitical processes and attain one's goals in chaos. In essence we face a situation when the world is going to be increasingly filled with a large number of local conflicts. The destruction of traditional structures of international organizations, interparliamentary interaction will proceed against this backdrop. The Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE is a case in point. And the situation is going to get worse until a new balance of forces is worked out.”

Andrei Savinykh stated: “Financial and industrial elites of the West, which are now losing their privileged position, are doing their best to retain control over resources and their dominant heights as much as possible if one could say that. For this they will be ready to sacrifice interests of any countries and nations.”
