Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefs foreign diplomats on country’s advance into BRICS

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lukashevich held a briefing on 9 September to discuss the promotion of the Republic of Belarus in BRICS. The briefing was organized for diplomats of the BRICS member states, who are accredited in Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Representatives of Russia, China, India, Brazil, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates took part in the briefing. Diplomats of the embassies of Egypt and Ethiopia with residence in Moscow joined the event via videoconference calls.

Participants of the briefing were informed about the work Belarus had done to join BRICS. Foreign diplomats shared their opinions about prospects of Belarus’ accession to this organization in the near future.
