MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing for the event announced by Aleksandr Lukashenko - a meeting with the heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov told the media following his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 18 March, BelTA learned.
“In terms of the event announced by the president - a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions, we are preparing for it in a very responsible fashion. We are set to assess the performance of the heads of all our diplomatic missions. It is very important, but that is not the main thing,” the minister said.
He also continued: “We also need to take a critical look, with the participation of top officials of our state, heads of ministries, agencies and industry flagships, at the question: what hinders further development of export-import operations with our partners, what additional efforts should be made in order to increase our exports and finally resolve, perhaps, some issues regarding Belarus' acquisition of critical imports, which are also necessary for the renewal of our economy.”
Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized that a number of personnel issues were also touched upon.
