MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) - It is with great concern that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs learned the information about damage to the building of the UAE Embassy in Sudan’s capital of Khartoum, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
“The Republic of Belarus emphasizes its unwavering position on the inviolability of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the unacceptability of any attacks against diplomatic missions and their staff,” the press service said in the commentary. “Belarus has been a friendly nation to the people of Sudan and cannot remain indifferent to the ongoing bloodshed in the country.”
“We call on the parties to the conflict in Sudan to end the hostilities, which have already caused so much suffering to millions of Sudanese, to achieve a peaceful settlement and restore the rule of law, including on the basis of the peace process in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,” the press service said.
