Belarusian foreign minister meets with counterparts from Hungary, Russia

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held bilateral meetings with Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjarto on the sidelines of the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the meeting with the Russian minister of foreign affairs on 27 October the parties discussed topical matters concerning the advancement of the bilateral political dialogue and plans concerning joint events. Close attention was paid to preparations for an upcoming collegium of the ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and Russia.

Apart from that, the ministers spoke in detail about efforts to ensure regional security in the face of rising tensions on the European continent and about its effect on the Republic of Belarus.

During negotiations with the Hungarian minister of foreign affairs on 28 October the parties exchanged opinions about key items on the international agenda. Progress in implementing the decisions made during the 13th session of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Minsk on 10 September 2025 was high on the agenda of the meeting.

The parties also talked over the problem of existing challenges and threats in the Eastern Europe region and ways to neutralize them as fast as possible.
