Belarusian FM wants UN to take stronger stance against sanctions

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) — The UN needs to take a stronger stance against sanctions, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said as he met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres in New York, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

After the minister's speech at the General Assembly, he met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The parties touched upon the issues of the current international agenda, including global and regional security.

Maksim Ryzhenkov pointed out the need for the UN to take a stronger stance against sanctions. The secretary-general emphasized the active and prominent role of Belarus in the UN and conveyed his warmest wishes to the Belarusian head of state.
