Belarusian FM, new UNDP Resident Representative  discuss joint projects

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov met with UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Renfei Liu to receive her accreditation letter from the UNDP Administrator, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minister congratulated Renfei Liu on her appointment as Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Belarus and assured her of Belarus' support for the UNDP mandate. Maksim Ryzhenkov also expressed hope that UNDP activities in Belarus will meet national interests and will be aimed at supporting priority economic sectors in the country.

"During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the results, challenges and prospects of UNDP activities in Belarus. The progress on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was hailed. The parties agreed to continue joint efforts to attract international potential for international technical assistance projects to assist Belarus in fulfilling tasks for the benefit of the Belarusian state," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
