MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov disclosed details of the Eurasian Economic Forum as he talked to journalists before a government meeting to review the preparation for the forum, BelTA learned.
The Eurasian Economic Forum, which is timed to coincide with the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting in 2025, is a very serious practice-oriented event, Maksim Ryzhenkov said. "If we are talking about participation at the highest level, it is naturally the Five member countries and the observer states, which we hope will sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It will also be attended by the states that are pivoting toward closer relations with the EAEU. In addition, representatives of business, public and business associations will be in attendance too. All of them will gather at the Minsk International Exhibition Center, our new exhibition venue. on 26-27 June to discuss practical steps to build closer integration between our countries, based on the decisions taken by the heads of state," the minister said.

The forum is set to discuss issues ranging from finance and economy to societal issues. "There will be 35 sessions within the framework of four major panel themes. About 1,200 participants will represent medium and large businesses of our countries at the forum. The plenary session alone will bring together 600 people, the most prepared specialists. These will be not only businessmen, but in general, people with scientific minds who deal with the problems of economic development, finances, and economic ties between the countries. We view it as a very serious brainstorming session to strengthen interaction between our countries that can give an additional boost to cooperation, trade, joint initiatives, import substitution, innovative development," he said.
The Minsk International Exhibition Center will also host an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. "We expect it will be a center of attraction for our guests. All countries share with us common approaches to the history of the Second World War. It will focus on the outcome of the war, our historical memory. The center will also host an exhibition of achievements of the Belarusian economy and manufacturing industries. The guests will be able to literally see everything that Belarus produces today," the minister said.
Belarus, as always, puts the main emphasis on innovative development, biotechnology, import substitution and stable transparent mechanisms for financing and supporting trade and economic relations, which is very important today, given the economic restrictions currently in place.
Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized that since Belarus is chairing the EAEU this year, it means that "we need to show ourselves well". "Hence the attention of the head of state on this event. We must deliver a top-notch event. The guests should leave here fully confident that all their tasks have been achieved, while we should realize that we have done a good job," he summarized.
