Belarusian FM, CSTO chief exchange views on regional, global security

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov met with Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Imangali Tasmagambetov, who arrived in Minsk to participate in the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

 During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues on the international agenda with an emphasis on regional and global security issues. The parties agreed on the need to further strengthen the CSTO capacities in order to effectively respond to modern challenges and threats.

he secretary general briefed the Belarusian minister about the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the CSTO statutory bodies in Astana on 28 November 2024.

Maksim Ryzhenkov thanked Imangali Tasmagambetov for supporting the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security and for his initiative to hold a thematic roundtable within its framework dedicated to analytical support for the CSTO activities to ensure regional security. He noted that this event fully fits into the theme of the Minsk conference, being an important addition to the main agenda of the international forum.
