MOSCOW, 23 June (BelTA) – Strike weapon systems may be deployed in the outer space. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin mentioned the possibility during the plenary session of the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security on 23 June, BelTA has learned.
Viktor Khrenin said: “Globalists and their transnational corporations are no longer satisfied with the planet Earth: fight for the outer space is already in progress. One can predict disastrous consequences of the American concept of outer space privatization. A new wave of colonization of worlds and spaces has been virtually launched. Its purpose is to stake out a claim on resources. The declaration that outer space is a theater of war should be considered from the point of view of this goal. The declaration paves way to the deployment of strike weapon systems in the near-Earth space. If it happens, state borders will become irrelevant because weapons will hang directly above our heads, within only a hundred kilometers from selected targets.”
The Belarusian defense minister also noted that transnational corporations and the states they control, the states that lobby their interests do not restrict themselves to the outer space. “The determination to dominate the virtual cyberspace can already be clearly seen today,” Viktor Khrenin pointed out.
Taking part in the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS 2021) are defense ministers, chiefs of general staffs, delegations of defense ministries from 109 countries as well as representatives of international organizations – the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the United Nations Organization (UN), the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the League of Arab States. Participants of the conference are expected to discuss problems of global and regional stability, various aspects of security in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
