Belarusian ambassador presents credentials to UN WFP head 

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN World Food Programme Yuri Ambrazevich presented his credentials to the organization's Executive Director Cindy McCain on 19 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the current state of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations World Food Programme and exchanged views on promising areas for further cooperation.

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian organization. It is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate (2020). Established in 1961 as a food assistance body within the UN system, it is mandated to aid the underprivileged in developing countries, combating hunger and poverty by using food assistance to promote economic and social development.
