MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) — Consul General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City Ruslan Varankov met with Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Nai Province of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Linh and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc on 12 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Ho Chi Minh City.
During the meeting involving the leadership of the structural units of the People's Committee, the parties focused on the promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and Dong Nai Province, taking into account the province's specialization in industrial production.
In particular, the parties agreed to consider establishing twinning ties between the province and one of Belarus' industrial centers. The parties also agreed on joint personnel training for Vietnamese enterprises and scientific cooperation on the basis of Belarusian and Vietnamese universities.
The Belarusian diplomat emphasized the readiness of Belarusian companies to participate in the province’s infrastructure projects, including the expansion of the highway network and the construction of Vietnam's largest airport Long Thanh with an annual passenger traffic of up to 100 million people and transshipment of up to 5 million tonnes of cargo.
In turn, the leadership of Dong Nai Province hoped for deepening business contacts between the two countries and cooperation in agriculture.
