MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Vietnam are interested in expanding interparliamentary cooperation, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vadim Ipatov told the media following the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Vietnam, BelTA has learned.
“The parliamentarians of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus are completing their visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,” Vadim Ipatov said. “The visit was dedicated to a very important event in the history of this state - the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification and liberation of South Vietnam. The Belarusian delegation has fully implemented all the planned activities.”
According to him, a number of meetings were held as part of the visit. “First of all, we met with the chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. A meeting took place with our Cuban friends, in particular with the delegation led by the country's vice president. The Vietnamese side treated our delegation with sincerity and respect. This helped us advance our relations and agree on further cooperation, including in the interparliamentary dimension,” Vadim Ipatov said.
