Belarus-Vietnam interregional contacts discussed in Ho Chi Minh City

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City Ruslan Varankov met with Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai on 9 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The parties discussed Belarus-Vietnam cooperation, with a focus on contacts between Ho Chi Minh City and Belarusian regions primarily in trade and investment.

According to Ruslan Varankov, Belarus is interested in promoting constructive and dynamic cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in education, culture and tourism, and in improving the legal framework of bilateral contacts.

The exchange of visits at various levels was called an important tool to invigorate bilateral relations. On behalf of Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev, Ruslan Varankov invited Phan Van Mai to visit Minsk and take part in events to celebrate the 955th anniversary of the founding of the Belarusian capital.
