MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Belarus will persistently defend its stance on the nation's genocide during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on all international platforms, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei.
Vladimir Makei noted that all the partner states are informed about Belarus' stance on events of the Great Patriotic War and the stance is also presented at international platforms and in integration associations.
Vladimir Makei said: “Whether partners respond to our initiatives or not depends on the partner. If people are reasonable, they accept it absolutely adequately. As for the unreasonable ones or those unwilling to understand, a lot can be explained by recalling that representatives of those, who don't want to listen to our arguments now, committed the genocide back in the day. Motivation of their behavior is understandable: ‘How can I recognize what I did in the past?' Nevertheless, little strokes fell great oaks. We will persist in advocating these matters on all international platforms.”
