MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin will participate in a regular conference of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 28 July, BelTA has learned.
Heads of the defense ministries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states will participate in the conference. Belarus has been an observer in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization since 2015.
In line with the agenda of the conference the participants will discuss a number of military matters and will exchange opinions about threats and challenges to regional and international security of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states and the measures designed to neutralize them.
The Belarusian defense minister is expected to have a number of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts.
