Belarus, Thailand reaffirm commitment to closer cooperation across the board

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The first round of consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand took place in Minsk on 17 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The consultations were co-hosted by Head of the Directorate for Asia, Africa and Latin America of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik and Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Krongkanit Rakcharoen. 

“The Thai delegation was received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov. The parties reaffirmed commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation, including through holding regular ministerial consultations,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

The parties discussed the entire range of Belarus-Thailand cooperation agenda, including plans to intensify political dialogue, increase trade, expand the legal framework, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations, cooperation with ASEAN and the EAEU, establishment of direct bilateral contacts in tourism, culture and humanitarian matters.

The diplomats pointed to ample opportunities to deepen bilateral relations and thrashed out cooperation plans for the future.
