Belarus, Tajikistan agree on closer economic ties


 

 MINSK, 13 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik held talks with Tajikistan Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who traveled to Minsk for the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council on 12 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 


The foreign ministers lauded the high level of Belarusian-Tajik relations and the effective system of interaction within the framework of multilateral organizations.

During the talks, the parties focused on ways of intensifying trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, and humanitarian ties.  

The parties welcomed the Tajik initiative to build a multifunctional trade house of Tajikistan in Minsk. 


The foreign ministers also touched upon the organization of the 17th meeting of the Belarusian-Tajik intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Minsk which is to be held as part of the Belagro 2024 exhibition. 

The head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to Tajikistan for sending a high-level delegation to observe the elections of deputies to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, stressing the importance of further fruitful cooperation between the parliamentarians of the two countries.
