Belarus, Switzerland's Fribourg discuss promising areas of economic cooperation

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Switzerland Aleksandr Ganevich has visited the city of Fribourg, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Switzerland.

“Ambassador Aleksandr Ganevich held talks with Fribourg Syndic (Mayor) Thierry Steiert. The talks were also attended by Belarus' Honorary Consul to Lausanne Andrei Nazheskin,” the embassy noted.

The parties discussed promising cooperation areas, including the establishing of relations in economy, culture, education, and sport.

The parties agreed to look into ways to honor the memory of Madeleine Radziwill, a Belarusian philanthropist of the first half of the 20th century, who spent her last years in Fribourg. They also discussed the possible participation of a Belarusian performance group in the International Folklore Festival in Fribourg.
