MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt and concurrently to Sudan Sergei Terentiev visited Sudan's capital Khartoum on 7-9 June, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Egypt.
Ambassador Sergei Terentiev met with representatives of the Sudanese government and business circles: Minister of Energy and Oil Jadein Ali Hassan, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Eltahir Ismail al-Harbi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Sharif Abdallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry Ismail al-Shawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Amin Saleh Yassin, and the leadership of the Agricultural Bank of Sudan and the GIAD industrial group.
Ambassador Sergei Terentiev and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Sharif Abdallah approved the list of high-level bilateral events for 2021, which includes the fifth session of the joint Belarusian-Sudanese commission on cooperation and political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers. The parties also considered the status of implementation of bilateral documents on cooperation in various fields.
The ambassador and the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Energy and Oil, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Finance of Sudan discussed ways to step up the Belarusian-Sudanese cooperation in certain promising areas, including in industry, agriculture, forestry, and advanced technologies for manufacturing of agricultural products.
