MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus calls for rejecting the use of unilateral restrictions. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich made the statement as he delivered a speech during the international conference “Strengthening the capacity of the Republic of Belarus to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals: Strategies and partnerships in the context of modern challenges and climate agenda” in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

Yuri Ambrazevich stressed: “We call for rejecting the application of unilateral restrictions, which not only contradict international commitments, including within the framework of fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, but also run contrary to provisions of the UN Charter and corresponding resolutions of the UN General Assembly.”

“We call upon everyone to recognize and ensure in practice the right of every country to access to food, fertilizers, energy resources, and other resources, including technologies, at an acceptable and sensible price. It will be an effective way to flesh out the UN slogan ‘Leaving No One Behind’,” he noted.

The deputy minister of foreign affairs also stressed: “It will allow reducing the technological and economic gaps in development between the ‘golden billion’ and the rest of the world and will allow preventing a multitude of future conflicts.”
