MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia are determined to develop high-level bilateral contacts. The matter was high on the agenda of the visit of Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov to Slovakia, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
The Belarusian diplomat met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukas Parizek and with 2nd State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and Co-Chairman of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission for trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation Rastislav Chovanec. Evgeny Shestakov also met with head of the friendship group with Belarus in the National Council (the Parliament) of Slovakia Robert Madej.
The parties discussed the status of implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of Slovakia Prime Minister Robert Fico to Belarus in November 2016, and also the prospects of cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian areas, including the further development of high-level bilateral contacts.
