MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud during the official visit of the Belarusian delegation to Saudi Arabia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties praised the renewed dynamics of political, economic and humanitarian ties between Belarus and Saudi Arabia, and the intensification of contacts between the business community of the two countries.
The diplomats confirmed the mutual desire to intensify bilateral relations across the board.
“The parties considered possible ways to do this, including through deepening trade and economic cooperation and development of the legal framework. The parties also discussed issues of food security, cooperation in healthcare and tourism, visa facilitation,” the press service said.
The ministers discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events, including the prospects of holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Cooperation Committee. The parties exchanged views on the regional and international agenda.
“The ministers emphasized the coincidence of positions and views on the ongoing global processes in international relations, agreed to intensify cooperation on the way to building a more equitable world order,” the ministry said.
Sergei Aleinik congratulated his Saudi counterpart on the kingdom's victory in the competition to host the World Expo 2030 and expressed confidence that this large-scale event will fully demonstrate the country's achievements in implementing the Vision 2030 development program, as well as contribute to the further development of Belarusian-Saudi ties.
