MOSCOW, 12 August (BelTA) - The Offices of the Security Councils of Belarus and Russia are holding consultations in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
The consultations has a broad security agenda.
At the beginning of the consultations, Deputy State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Aleksandr Neverovsky stated that Belarus shares Russia's approaches to international and regional security, to the fight against terrorism and extremism, to the use of sanctions as a tool of pressure in international relations. "This is especially relevant in modern conditions, in the context of militarization of the European region, increasing activity of the United States and NATO in the states bordering Belarus," he said.
"We have a packed agenda, and we are absolutely sure that, having discussed today's issues, we will be able to identify ways to strengthen the partnership between our countries," Aleksandr Neverovsky added.
The consultations will be followed by a bilateral meeting between State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich and Secretary of Russia's Security Council Sergei Shoigu.
