MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich met with Director of the Foreign Policy Planning Department of Russia's Foreign Ministry Alexey Drobinin on the sidelines of the Belarusian-Russian ministerial consultations on 6 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The consultations touched upon the development of the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st century and building Eurasian security, as it was envisaged in the plan of joint ministerial consultations.
Yuri Ambrazevich praised the high level of interaction between Belarus and Russia in promoting the Belarusian initiative, in particular, the joint efforts to promote the document "Joint Vision of the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st century"in the Eurasian capitals and headquarters of regional organizations. The document was signed by the foreign ministers of Belarus and Russia at the joint board meeting of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Brest on 22 November.
During the consultations, the parties took stock of the joint work to promote the idea of the Eurasian Charter after the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security (October 2024), and agreed on further steps to organize the negotiation process to develop the Charter. The parties also discussed the prospects of holding the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security.
