Belarus prime minister to visit Kyrgyzstan on 19-20 August

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko will go to Kyrgyzstan on a working visit on 19-20 August, the government’s press service told BelTA.

While in Kyrgyzstan Roman Golovchenko will participate in a private offline session and an expanded-participation offline session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon Ata. According to the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the EAEU heads of government will discuss a list of exemptions and restrictions, which exist on the domestic market of the Eurasian Economic Union and are supposed to be scrapped in 2021-2022. They will also discuss the rapprochement of unilateral non-tariff measures on export as well as export customs duties. They will discuss matters concerning government (municipal) procurement contracts, the calculation and distribution of sums of import customs duties between budgets of the EAEU member states in 2020. Measures for insurance-based support for mutual trade and foreign trade of the Eurasian Economic Union member states are also supposed to be discussed.

The Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will discuss the formation of a high-level group on digital transformation in the Eurasian Economic Union, the creation of a Eurasian (regional) organization for accreditation in the area of conformance evaluation, action plans (roadmaps) for implementing the main directions and stages of implementation of the coordinated (reconciled) transport policy of the EAEU member states for the 2021-2023 period, for setting up the common market of organic agricultural products in the Eurasian Economic Union. A memorandum on assistance with the steady development of the transit potential and ecological security of railway transport of the Eurasian Economic Union is supposed to be signed as well.

Heads of the delegations participating in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session are expected to meet with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov.

Apart from that, while in Kyrgyzstan Belarus’ prime minister will meet with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.
