MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Korea Andrei Chernetsky participated in the Global Engagement and Empowerment Forum on Sustainable Development (GEEF), the Belarusian Embassy in South Korea told BelTA.
The event was organized by the Institute for Global Engagement and Empowerment at Yonsei University, South Korea. Held annually in Seoul, the GEEF serves as a major platform to discuss and develop joint actions within the global agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
This year, Yonsei University President Dong-Sup Yoon, Chair of the Asia Society Kang Kyung-wha and former United Nations Secretary-General (2007–2016) Ban Ki-moon made welcome speeches to the participants and visitors of the forum.
On the sidelines of the forum, Ambassador Andrei Chernetsky held discussions with Ban Ki-moon, during which the parties emphasized the importance of consolidating efforts across all nations to address pressing issues and work toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
