Belarus' parliament speaker condemns interference in Cuba's domestic affairs

MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova received a message from Juan Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Cuba's parliament, who informed her about the ongoing developments in the Republic of Cuba. Natalia Kochanova responded with words of support for Cuban people, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament.

“We strongly condemn interference in the domestic affairs of your country and stand in solidarity with the people of Cuba who are committed to defending the country's independence and sovereignty and resisting external pressure. Friendly and trust-based relations between our states are an example to follow in international relations; our vision of key challenges of our time largely coincides,” Natalya Kochanova said.

She emphasized the need to unite efforts and coordinate foreign policy actions in the international arena, actively promote economic cooperation projects in the interests of Belarusian and Cuban peoples.
