Belarus, Pakistan outline promising areas of cooperation

MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa met with Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser for Commerce and Investment to the Pakistan Prime Minister, co-chair of the Belarus-Pakistan joint commission on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the preparations for the sixth meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, exchanged views on the bilateral events held over the past seven months, including meetings of working groups and business councils, and visits by official and business delegations.

An agreement was reached to hold an online meeting at the level of deputy ministers in charge of the work of the commission to harmonize the modalities of organizing the joint meeting. The parties also outlined industry, agriculture, light industry and petrochemicals as promising areas of cooperation.

Mutual interest to promote trade and development of economic cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan was reaffirmed.
