MINSK, 24 December (BelTA) – A ceremony to open the first Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place in Pale on 24 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Hungary.
During the ceremony, Belarusian Ambassador to Hungary with concurrent accreditation to Bosnia and Herzegovina Aleksandr Ponomarev presented a consular patent to Honorary Consul of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina Nedeljko Elek.
According to the diplomatic mission, the consular district of the first Honorary Consulate includes the entire territory of that state. The activities of the Honorary Consulate of Belarus in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be primarily focused on intensifying bilateral trade and economic cooperation, promoting the Belarusian culture and tourist potential of the country.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Stasa Kosarac, the authorities of the city of Pale, and business representatives of business.
