Belarus' MP attends parliamentary meeting of Central European Initiative

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – The consolidation of society depends on the position of parliaments of various countries, Chairman of the Council of the Republic's Standing Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Social Development Viktor Liskovich told journalists. He took part in a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

“Today we are discussing how parliamentarians from various countries can contribute to the unification and consolidation of our initiatives in order to promote individual projects and economies as a whole. It should be noted that today the consolidation of our society depends on the position of the parliaments of various countries. Within the framework of this Assembly, we can develop ways and solutions that will help develop the society, live in peace and harmony,” Viktor Liskovich said.

According to the senator, today the association unites 18 states of Eastern and Central Europe. “It is a big and important association that is also present in the United Nations. Belarus cannot but use the opportunities it offers. We advocate a constructive approach to solving any issues - be it humanitarian, economic or political activities. No country can win from sanctions. We believe that today we need to find constructive solutions in order to move forward,” he added.
