MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Moldova Anatoly Kalinin met with outgoing State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Sergiu Mihov on 4 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and Moldova, and took note of the potential for the development of relations,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
In late March, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko appointed Head of the administration of the Minsk Free Economic Zone Anatoly Buben Ambassador to Moldova.
“As for Moldova, are we facing any issues with the replacement of the ambassador there?” the head of state inquired.
“We have received the agreman. Everything is good,” Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi assured.
The head of state also asked about the plans of the previous ambassador to that country, Anatoly Kalinin.
“He and I met during his vacation here in Minsk. He is willing to work. We may offer him something in the country given his extensive experience as vice-premier, knowledge of the construction, housing and utilities sector,” Dmitry Krutoi said.
“We need to come up with something. No need to sit idle. We're not going to retire anyone. If a person is willing to work, we have enough work. So we need to offer him something,” the president agreed.
