MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) - Belarus and Laos plan to exchange visits at the highest level. Such an agreement was reached during the talks between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov and Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
“In preparation for the exchange of visits at the highest level, including the visit of the president of Laos to Belarus, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation through the channels of public diplomacy: parliamentary, youth, women’s and through friendship societies. An agreement was reached to draw up a comprehensive roadmap in preparation for the visit of the Lao president to Belarus. The Lao minister of foreign affairs accepted the invitation to visit Minsk in the near future,” the press service said.
The parties also confirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation in the media sector, including the preparation of an agreement between the news agencies and TV channels, which will raise the awareness of each other’s capabilities. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of joint work to counter the spread of false information.
The parties supported the idea of developing combined tourist routes and continuing to invite Lao children to holiday in Belarus, including in the National Children's Educational and Wellness Center Zubrenok.
