Belarus, Kyrgyzstan getting ready for multilateral, bilateral events

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Strachko met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Moldogaziyev on 20 April, BelTA has learned.

The sides discussed topical aspects of Belarus-Kyrgyzstan interaction, including the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation. The negotiations also touched upon progress in implementing joint projects, plans to prepare and host events at the multilateral level and the bilateral one.

Belarus-Kyrgyzstan diplomatic relations were established on 21 January 1993. Embassies are open in both countries. In 2021 Belarus-Kyrgyzstan trade totaled $97.1 million, with Belarus' export at $86.2 million. Belarus exported mainly food to Kyrgyzstan in 2021.
