Belarus, Kyrgyzstan discuss cooperation prospects

MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov has met with the head of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission in Astana, Kudaibergen Bazarbayev, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the diplomats noted the friendly nature of relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic and addressed current issues of bilateral interaction with a focus on cooperation prospects. They also exchanged views on the international agenda and agreed to maintain contacts on issues of mutual interest.
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992. The Belarusian Embassy operates in Astana, while the Kazakh Embassy operates in Minsk. The legal framework for cooperation comprises over 80 international treaties, one of the key documents being the interstate Agreement on Socioeconomic Cooperation in effect until 2026.
