Belarus, Kazakhstan discuss measures to counter new challenges, threats

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – A delegation of the State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus led by head Aleksandr Volfovich arrived on a working visit in Nur-Sultan on 20 October, BelTA learned from the State Secretariat of the Security Council.

The visit will include meetings with representatives of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense, and also other agencies that ensure the national security of the state.

Bilateral consultations of the Security Councils were held on the first day of the Belarusian delegation's visit to the capital of Kazakhstan with the participation of experts from the two countries. The agenda focused on mutual assessment of the security situation in the region, exchange of experience in improving the conceptual framework and strategic planning in national security management, measures to counter new challenges and threats, especially their ‘hybrid' forms, and also further development of promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

On the same day, Aleksandr Volfovich visited the National Defense University to get familiar with Kazakhstan's experience in military education and meet with Kazakhstani servicemen.
