Belarus, Iraq to develop ties in education, sport, legal services

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) - During his working trip to Baghdad, Iraq, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye with concurrent accreditation to Iraq Viktor Rybak met with representatives of three ministries to discuss prospects for cooperation in a number of areas, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ambassador met with Iraqi Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani to discuss cooperation between Belarus and Iraq in mutual legal assistance, prospects for expanding the legal framework of cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador and Minister of Youth and Sports of Iraq Ahmed al-Mubarqa talked over the potential of Belarusian sports facilities, which can be used by Iraqi national teams for a wide range of training camps.

Viktor Rybak also held a meeting with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Iraq Naeem Al-Aboudi. The parties expressed interest in strengthening cooperation between the higher educational institutions of the two countries.

The ambassador invited the Iraqi representatives to visit Belarus to continue the dialogue with the relevant ministries and agencies.
