Belarus, Iran discuss expansion of interaction in trade, economy

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Iran Dmitry Koltsov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Ali Bagheri Kani, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

Mutual interest in further enhancement and expansion of the dynamics of bilateral cooperation across a broad spectrum of avenues was stressed during the meeting.

Dmitry Koltsov and Ali Bagheri Kani discussed plans concerning the organization of joint events meant to expand interaction in trade, economy, investment, and humanitarian affairs. The sides also talked over topical items on the international agenda. Close attention was paid to cooperation within the framework of international organizations.

Belarus-Iran diplomatic relations were established on 18 March 1993. The Belarusian embassy in Tehran was opened on 8 March 1998 while the Iranian embassy has been working in Minsk since February 2001.
