Belarus, Hungary exchange consular expertise

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary have held online consultations between the Consular Directorate-General of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consular Service of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Hungary.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Head of the Consular Directorate-General Andrei Kozhan, while the Hungarian delegation was headed by Director of the Hungarian Consular Service Balázs Farkas. The heads of the consular services reviewed a wide range of cooperation issues and emphasized the importance of regular dialogue in the format of consular consultations, aimed primarily at ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of citizens and legal entities. 

The parties discussed issues of the migration and visa policies of Belarus and Hungary, with a special focus on sharing expertise in consular procedures related to attracting foreign labor migrants and preventing illegal migration. The sides considered ways to protect the rights and interests of citizens of both states and shared information on current trends and innovations in this area.

Other consular issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the consultations. The parties agreed to continue their working interaction.
