MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – The Republic of Belarus is deeply concerned about a new round of military escalation between Israel and Iran and about reports about the death of civilians, including children. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released the relevant statement in view of the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, BelTA has learned.

“The violent scenario of the conflict poses a serious threat to regional stability and security, entails the risk of a humanitarian catastrophe, and may have unpredictable global consequences,” the ministry pointed out.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on all parties to the conflict to exercise restraint, responsibility, and refrain from actions that may have an adverse impact on the political and diplomatic efforts the international community pours into a comprehensive resolution of the situation in the Middle East.

“We strongly recommend that citizens of Belarus take into account the evolving situation, carefully weigh the need to travel to countries in the conflict zone, and when planning such trips, monitor official notifications from aviation authorities about the possible introduction of restrictions on the use of airspace in a number of countries as well as the suspension of airport operations. We urge citizens of the Republic of Belarus, who are in the region, to strictly observe safety measures and follow recommendations of authorities of the country they stay in,” the ministry added.
