MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov will visit the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China and attend the ninth Belt and Road Summit on 10-12 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs will take part in the summit as a speaker from Europe.
The summit program also includes bilateral meetings with the leadership of Hong Kong, government agencies of Hong Kong and China, and the business community of the region to discuss the current cooperation agenda.
The annual Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong is an international platform established by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 2016. Its main coordinators include the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The forum is aimed at discussing topical issues and further strengthening of business all-round cooperation between countries within the Belt and Road Initiative. Taking part in the summit are high-ranking government officials, heads of major trade, logistics, investment companies, banks, financial institutions.
