MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei held a telephone conversation with President of the Swiss Confederation, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed issues of regional security, the situation in Ukraine and the associated humanitarian challenges for European countries, sanctions, the state and prospects of Belarusian-Swiss relations.
The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs took note of Belarus' efforts to settle the conflict in Ukraine through peace talks and also measures the country is undertaking to accept Ukrainian refugees.
